I have just updated my iTunes to version 11.3.1.2 and then tried to sync some new videos onto my iPhone only to get an annoying error message :
"iTunes was unable to load data class information from Sync Services. Reconnect or try again later."
I tried rebooting my computer and fully re-powering the iPhone but still get the error message.
How did I fix the problem?
I actually found that the issue was caused by Trusteer Rapport which is a browser program that most online banks encourage you to use.
I'm not sure why there is a conflict between iTunes and this software but I found that uninstalling Rapport got iTunes sync working again without any problems.
How to uninstall Rapport from Windows 7. Quit your browser, goto the control panel, Click on uninstall program, Select Trusteer Rapport and click Change, Uninstall button at the top. It will come up with a panel where you have to type in some numbers and letters to confirm that you want to stop the program running to uninstall it.
Of course uninstalling Rapport is not ideal as you may want to keep this software if you use online banking.
Hopefully there will be a fix for this soon.
hope this helps you if you get this error.

Hi Andy, Thanks for posting this.
ReplyDeleteI had the exact same problem and found the same solution buried deep in an Apple discussion Board. The work round on the Apple site is long, complicated and, from many frustrated comments, does not work - I am glad I didn't bother trying it.
It would be nice if Apple checked their updates before releasing them wouldn't it?

Thank you, you saved me hours of frustration.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I had the same annoying issue.
ReplyDeleteTheir support said the issue has been resolved last night.
Can't check now, but will update if issue still occurs.
This worked for me. I contacted Trusteer on 26th August 2014 and they said they were aware of the problem and their techos were working to fix it.
