I would describe this car boot sale as small/medium sized based on my experience of other local car boots here :
1) Measham car boot - The biggest!
2) Tansley car boot, biggest in Derbyshire.
3) Treetops Hospice, Risey
4) Shardlow Car Boot
5) Derby cattle market car boot
6) Willington Car Boot
7) Babington Hospital, Belper Car Boot
8) Belper indoor car boot.

Shardlow Car boot sale used to take place on the land at the back of the former Grove Hospital but this was demolished in 2007, since then the car boot has taken place on Shardlow Village Hall field.
Show your support for the 131st Alvaston Baptist Scout Group by coming to this nice little car boot sale. The location is very nice, Once you have been to the car boot sale why not have a look around the village of Shardlow. Some nice walks along the Trent and Mersey canal here and some great pubs too.
Thanks

Video of Matlock Bath Cable Cars in Time-Lapse as seen from the Heights of Abraham, Derbyshire.
I made this time-lapse video back in 2008 but never used it. Thought I may as well get it online as-is.
I filmed this footage from the top of Victoria prospect tower which is located near the top of the Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath, Derbyshire, UK.
This footage was captured on Friday 20th June 2008. The actual real time captured here is 26 minutes.
A trip on there cable cars offer you stunning views over Derbyshire.

The IT Crowd - The new emergency number for 999, funny clip you remember for years.
Have you seen the IT Crowd? If not why not. You can get them on Box Set now to enjoy them again.
All four series (that's 24 episodes) for £18.58 on Amazon.
Thanks to YouTube I was able to find one of my favorite clips from the comedy series.
This is from the IT Crowd - Series 1 - Episode 2, its the replacement for 999, now you can simply use 0118 999 881 999 119 7253 This clip was way back in 2006 but you remember that jingle that goes with the advert for ever.
The IT Crowd, New emergency number to remember :
So no more having to remember that complicated 999 number when you can dial the new
0118 999 881 999 119 7253 number.
Also you get nicer ambulances, faster response times, better looking drivers too.
They are YOUR emergency service
Graham Linehan says there will be a "one off" special of the IT Crowd in Summer this year so keep an eye out for that.
This acclaimed comedy by Writer/Director Graham Linehan and Ash Atalla, the Producer of The Office. The short story is that in the dark and shabby basement, the company's IT Support Team - bitter slacker Roy (Chris O'Dowd), socially inept Moss (Richard Ayoade), and their new boss, computer illiterate Jen (Katherine Parkinson) - rule their own domain of professional irresponsibility, mega-nerd ecstasy, and random acts of personal insanity.
Thanks

Video - "Chasing Dreams", A study of texture, pattern and Colour at 720p
See if you can work out which roads in Derby I filmed this on!
This is an experiment in video manipulation using layered video tracks with different "compositing modes" in Sony Vegas Pro 10.
Here is my video, hope you like it :
I had lots of problems during render where it would stop on frame 1075, seems to be a bug in SV if you use heavy maths !

Videos of the St George's Day celebrations in Sheffield 2013, Morris Men and Giant dancers.
This is a set of videos I took of the 2013 St. George's Day celebrations in Sheffield City Centre.
They performed in various places such as in front of Sheffield town hall, the Peace Gardens and Barkers Pool. They attracted a large crowd of people, visitors and locals alike. Look out for them next St George's Day in Sheffield.
The Sheffield City Giants you can see here in two of my videos were presented to the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, who accepted them on behalf of the City on 4th July 1992. They had been created by the Catalan Giant maker, Jordi Grau (honoured in the dance Jordi's) under commission from the Sheffield Festival to produce a pair of giants according to the theme of the festival 'Life and Death'. It was, however, contrary to Catalan custom to represent Death and with this in mind, the theme was altered to 'War and Peace'.

Video of a Cyclist with a Death Wish in Derby City Centre at night.
I used to be a very keen cyclist until a stupid taxi driver knocked me off my bike 20 odd years ago, So I fully understand what its like to be on a bike on roads full of inconsiderate car drivers. BUT it absolutely amazes me the kind of risky situations that cyclists put them selves in such as the one in my video.
While recording for one of my "Derby streets by car" series of videos I captured this stupid idiot while I was turning right at a roundabout in the city centre of Derby.
Why on Earth would you ride onto a traffic island when there is a car coming towards you?
Forcing me to slam the brakes on. What if I had hit him ?
He does not have any lights on the bike and does not even look to the right on entering the roundabout!
At this round-a-bout you turn right from Corporation Street onto Derwent Street.
The time was 8.22pm on Thursday 18th April 2013. The roads were dry, lighting was good.
Have you had any close shaves with cyclists like this?
Thanks
Andy

Here are three short clips from the Squeeze gig at the o2 Academy in Sheffield on 2nd December 2012. You must have heard of Squeeze surely? they have been around since 1974 They have had a string of hit songs such as Cool for Cats, Up the Junction, Tempted, Labelled With Love, Black Coffee In Bed, Another Nail in My Heart,Pulling Mussels etc etc.
Their next local gig is Splendor in Nottingham on 20th July 2013.
In my short video you can see them performing Slap and Tickle, Labelled with love and Take me I'm yours. Were you there at this gig?
I managed to get very good footage due to being on the balcony.
Squeeze made a video blog about Sheffield at the same time as this gig which is quite funny :

Walking through history, Tony Robinson explores the Derwent Valley in the first episode of this new TV Series.
A new Channel Four TV Series started on Saturday presented by Tony Robinson called Walking through history. In the first episode he took us on a walking tour along the Derwent Valley, where the world's industrial revolution was born.
I found this show really interesting and I'm sure you will do too, even if your not from Derbyshire. Tony Robinson is a good presenter for shows like this and I'm glad its showcasing what heritage we have in Derbyshire.
Here are some screen grabs that I did from the show :
Starting his 40-mile walk through the glorious Peak District, starting in Bakewell.
Along the way he shows us around Cromford, where Richard Arkwright established the world's first ever factory, and examines the grip that Arkwright had on Cromford, including enforcing his own currency.
Nearby in Belper is the building that would lay the foundations for today's skyscrapers.
Tony also encounters a 900-year-old stately home that has been used to film three different Jane Eyres.
Brian Blessed introduces Tony to the joys and the huge significance of the Cromford canal.
Later Tony climbs to the heights of the Peaks, drawn by the chance to operate a huge steam winding engine that's been working in the same place since 1829.
He has a pint of beer in the Holly Bush inn at Makeney where he gets excited when he sees that Dick Turpin visited this pub !
He ends his incredible journey through economic time in Derby , the railway town's secret crown jewel is the world's first engine roundhouse, built in 1839 and now restored to its former glory.
Don't worry if you missed this show as you still have chance to watch it using the "on demand" service provided by Sky or Virgin Media and also online by using my link here:
Watch Walking Through History S1E1 via 4od.
You have 25 days left to view this episode online. This episode is 47 min 33 seconds long. Watching it online you will have to endure a collection of short adverts every 10 minutes or so.
It also is available using the 4OD App on the iPhone. Just tap the search icon and type walking through and it shows up top, away you go !

The Incredible Jonathan Goodwin hanging off a cable car at Heights of Abraham, Matlock Bath.
Did you see The Incredible Jonathan Goodwin on Watch last week ?
Jonathan Goodwin is an escapologist and professional "danger-man", his new series started on the Watch TV channel a few weeks ago. In Episode 3 his first stunt was a local one. It took place at The Heights of Abraham, Matlock Bath.
What he did was grab hold of the bottom of a cable car just as it was starting to leave the base station. He had to hold on for dear life until it got to the very top before he could drop down. The security guard tried to wrestle him to the ground but he got away. They used a drone helicopter to film the amazing footage of him dangling below the cabin. There was a behind-the-scenes bit at the end of the show.
What if a Wasp had attacked !
Were YOU one of the passengers on this ride when Jonathan Goodwin had a free ride with you?
Here are some screen grabs from the show I captured from the show, click to view larger versions :
The Watch TV channel is available on :
Sky channel 109, Virgin Media channel 124
Episode 4 of The Incredible Mr Goodwin is on Wednesday 3rd April at 10pm.

Video - Heage Windmill, opening by TV weather presenter Sara Blizzard on Saturday 30th March 2013.
Here is my latest local video, filmed on Saturday 30th March 2013. Its of the official opening ceremony of Heage Windmill by BBC TV Weather presenter Sara Blizzard.
If you live in Derbyshire then I'm sure you know Sara Blizzard from BBC's East Midlands Today as she has presented the weather on this show for 13 years now and always brings a warm smile to the weather forecast what ever the weather.
The weather for the opening was nice and sunny as you will see in my video. She arrived on a vintage tractor which she drove along the narrow drive down to the mill. After posing for photographs she raised the Union Jack flag up the pole.
Then she performed the ribbon cutting to open the 12th season at Heage Windmill.
Then she operated the controls to close all of the shutters on all of the sails which makes the sails turn.

Feel free to use this video on Facebook, Twitter etc.
